Security forces have successfully apprehended Sanjay Yadav, alias Ramjanm Yadav, a prominent Maoist leader wanted for the past decade.
Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint operation by Bihar Police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) led to Yadav's capture in the Magara police station area of Gaya district.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in Bihar's anti-Maoist campaign. According to a Bihar Police spokesperson, Yadav had been a high-priority target with multiple criminal cases against him.
"Joint action by Bihar Police and SSB successfully led to the arrest of notorious Maoist Yadav," read a post on X, underscoring the collaborative efforts in his capture.
Yadav, who hails from Neykadih village, was reportedly involved in numerous violent acts, including a 2014 incident where Maoists detonated explosives to destroy a mobile tower in Dumaria.
An FIR was filed, listing Yadav as a primary suspect in the attack. After receiving intelligence about Yadav’s movements, security forces executed a strategic operation in Neykadih, leading to his capture.
This arrest is a morale booster for security agencies combating Maoist activities in the region.
