NIA Chargesheets Two Maoist Cadres in Major Arms Recovery Case

The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against Vinod Awalam and Ashu Korsa, the members of proscribed terrorist organisation CPI (Maoist) belonging to Kuyemari area committee. The chargesheet was filed after they were arrested while allegedly carrying arms and explosives to strike at the security personnel in Maoist-affected areas of Chhattisgarh.

The charge sheet was filed in the Special Court, Jagdalpur, for provisions of sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. They were arrested from Mujalgondi village in Kanker district along with firearms and other incriminating materials.

They were part of the protection and supply team for senior CPI (Maoist) leaders who were planning to execute terrorist attacks against security forces. The swiftness of this move by the NIA stands as a testament to the commitment of our security agencies toward protecting the country from Maoist menace.

Twenty-one criminal cases have been filed against Singh, and one criminal charge is pending against Paswan.
