Terrorism: Is It Too Late to Understand Its Root Cause?

Are we truly fighting terrorism, or just treating its symptoms while ignoring the real reason behind why so many are willing to kill and die?

From one country to another, and in every global institution, terrorism remains one of the most serious concerns of our time.

Even a child with basic education can notice the clear patterns in the names of terrorists and their organisations.

Why do their slogans, commands, and operations always seem to reflect one particular ideology?

And why do they receive support from people who follow that ideology across the world?

The answers to these questions are actually simple. Yet, many so-called "educated people" and "liberals" still fail to understand where these questions lead us.

Now imagine this: You want to conquer a big, rich, and powerful country. But you have no resources, no support. Why would people be willing to die for you? You must give them a reason that feels important enough to sacrifice their lives. This is where religion is used as a tool.

You convince them by saying: "You are superior. Your god is the only true god. Everyone should follow your beliefs. This is your divine duty." Just with this message, you can build a large army. New people, full of passion, will keep joining — at no cost. Isn't this the most effective way to achieve your geopolitical goals?

Now, let’s talk about a specific example: the Pahalgam Terror Attack.

Bharat, a strong country with an ancient and powerful civilisation, is constantly facing such incidents. We are simply naming each tragedy with a different location — Pulwama Terror Attack, Reasi Terror Attack, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Terror Attack, and so on.

What are we really doing? Yes, terrorists are being killed, and operations are being carried out. But here’s the question: are we only treating the symptoms, or are we addressing the root cause?

Can a patient be saved by only treating symptoms and not the actual disease? Can we call that a solution?

And here’s the most commonly repeated line: "You cannot blame a religion. Terrorism has no religion."
If you're still saying this, maybe you’re part of the problem — and no real solution can come from you.

A practical approach would be to accept that yes, there is a serious issue. Some people within a particular religion are misinterpreting their texts or being misguided. Even if something is written in a holy book or said by a religious leader, we must have the courage to say, “I disagree with this ideology.”

If the other side accepts this truth and works on correcting it, then real progress is possible. But sadly, that’s not what’s happening.

The harsh truth is — it may already be too late to realise the root cause of terrorism. If this continues, the unity of our country could be in danger once again, just as it was in our history.
